Also the BEST free Anti-Virus program that also gets rid of adwares is www.avast.com
Avast is highly recommended by me.
Free version of Avast is only for home users. Commercial business users must pay for the program which is the PROFESSIONAL version.
If you are not using the internet, then shut down the cable modem to prevent anything infecting your network.
PLUS IT WILL MAKE YOUR INTERNET A BIT FASTER THAN LETTING IT RUN ALL THE TIME.
